Yona “Mushy”

Yona — our beloved Bernese Mountain Dog, lovingly called Mushy — passed peacefully, surrounded by the family she adored. She was pure joy, pure sweetness, and the warm heart of our home.

From the day we brought her home with her sister Ada, the two were instantly bonded. They spent their lives side by side — playing, exploring, and filling our days with love.

Mushy greeted every morning ready to “dance and sing the babe song.” She lit up at the words “Who wants to go to Milwaukee?” and loved her walks and hikes at Nolde, always searching the trees and sky with quiet wonder.

Winter was her season. She caught raindrops and snowflakes, chased snowballs, and shared her mom’s love of cold air and peaceful mornings. At the beach, she found calm watching the water, thoughtful and serene.

At home, she was our comfort — curling on the sofa, stretching across our laps, sneaking into bed for naps, and listening with a focus that made you feel understood. She made every ordinary moment feel special.

She leaves behind her devoted family — Lorri, Jay, Ada, and Meow — all of us feeling the stillness of her absence and the blessing of her love.

Yona, Mushy was a once‑in‑a‑lifetime soul.

And she will be loved forever.
