Cover for Riley's Obituary

Riley

d. Jul 12, 2026

It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to Riley, our most cherished Shar Pei girl who crossed the Rainbow Bridge to be with her sister Cheyenne on July 12, 2026. They were adopted together from the Operation Scarlet Shar Pei rescue to our home in 2018.

Riley brought some challenges with her when she came to us, but she loved us with all her heart and we did the same. She was very much Daddy's girl, but always wanted Mommy when she was upset or not feeling well. Mommy was her protector when her new brother Leo would be annoying as brothers can be.

She was definitely her own person, and lived life on her own terms, but if she chose you as her person there was no questions about how she felt or her level of protection. She loved to go for long walks with her Daddy and was able to be very clear where she wanted to go. She loved to lay on her bed on the back deck and survey the yard and the neighborhood. This was especially true at night until she met a skunk in the backyard and we had to make her come in after dark. She also knew how to tell time and would let us know that 4:00 was suppertime. She also let Daddy know what she wanted when cookies were on her mind or her chewy bone after meals. She had Daddy wrapped around her paw.

Riley was a star in our lives and gave us unconditional love. We will cherish Riley's memory and she and Cheyenne will live with our other fur babies in our hearts until we meet again at the Rainbow Bridge.

Run free sweet girl.
