Gidget Perkins

January 1, 2017- July 27, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our best friend, Gidget Perkins.

On New Year’s Day 2017, Gidget was born under a cold porch. Gidget along with her siblings and mother were brought into a rescue where we adopted her in March of that year. All of her siblings eventually passed away within a short time due to genetic heart issues. Gidget was the only survivor.

For 8 years she brought us endless amounts of love. There was no greater feeling than to come home after a long day to a smiling howling pup shaking her body in excitement.

Gidget ruled the Perkins roost from the day she walked in the door. If she wanted a toy she took it. If too much fun was being had by her younger canine sibling Kali, Gidget let her know to settle down. We often joked she was the fun police.

Gidget always knew when someone in the family was sick or sad. She would curl up beside them and always managed to make things better.

She loved her daily walks and barking at everyone along the route as if she owned the block, morning dental bones, and sneaking licks off of the dirty dishes as they were loaded in the dishwasher.

Gidget was the best friend a person could have. She will be missed forever. We take comfort in knowing she was greeted in heaven by her sisters who passed before her, Kujo and Isabelle.

Gidget, we may have only gotten to have you for 8 years, but we will love and remember you forever. Enjoy all the walks and bones heaven can give you sweet girl.
