We were given Cody on August 14, 2016 from an abusive couple whom no longer wanted him. We were a little unsure at first, knowing the life he had, but he was so playful, happy and loving.
Cody would love to take naps with his new Dad on the recliner. He loved to go for walks and rides. There wasn’t a day that went by, that he didn’t ride along to take his new mom to work. He was 6 years old when we adopted him and saw a veterinarian for the first time.
Unfortunately, over the years he developed diabetes, which meant insulin shots twice a day. Cody knew when 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. was because he was ready to get fed and his shot. We often thought, he enjoyed it more than we did, because he always got a treat of green beans when done.
Three years ago, he went blind, but that didn’t slow him down. Cody knew his way around the house and still loved going for a ride to pick mom up at work. Other health issues caused him to cross over the rainbow bridge, peacefully, with the loving help of Dr. Jennifer Collins at Oley Valley Animal Clinic with his mom and dad by his side. Cody can now see again; He is playing with his sisters and grandma. He can finally see grandpa for the first time.
Cody, it’s lonely down here without you and we miss you. We will be together, again someday. Till then all our hugs and kisses. Love Mom and Dad
A special thanks to Dr. Jennifer Collins and Lisa at the Oley Valley Animal Clinic you were there for Cody and us in good and bad times.
A special thanks to the staff at Kuhn Funeral Home for taking care of our “honey bun”. Also thanks to Alison for your guidance through our rough time.
