Baxter Karst

With a broken heart, we have to say goodbye to our best buddy Baxter Karst. He was brought into our home by my husband and daughter in 2013 and to say it was a surprise was an understatement. But from there he forever won all our hearts. He was a beautiful sheltie mix who was not an ankle biter like some but a dog full of energy and would run in circles when his favorite people were around. He was in the corner of the stall when my husband chose him to sit with to see if he was the one, that should have been his first hint that he was different. Baxter was not a fan of other dogs at all, he wouldn't be mean to them but he would look away as if to say "If I don't see them, then they are not near me!" He would run the fence line between our house and neighbors house to play with our neighbors dog, who was much smaller than him and 2 physical fence lines in between kept him safe. He wasn't a big walker, he liked to stop and smell the grass every 5 feet so exercise was never attained while walking him! He did like to run in the backyard around the pool, especially if someone was chasing him. He absolutely hated thunderstorms and pretty much attached himself to whoever was close or went under our desk if we were working when one rolled through, he also wasn't a fan at all of fireworks. Not too many dogs are. He was a beautiful dog with wonderful butt fluff and we always knew when his next grooming appointment was coming by his 'Grinch feet'. He is survived by his heartbroken parents Mike and Sandy Karst. His human siblings Daniel (Tara), Brian (Aubrey), Deanna (Harlan) Swavely and Bailey (Antonio) Karst. His nephews Mason K, Elias S and his niece Cora S and another niece/nephew coming in December. He was predeceased by his maternal grandmom Verna Severson, his canine nephew Chester, feline nephew Porter and Bunny niece Sophie. All of them he did meet at least a few times before they went ahead to the Rainbow Bridge, except Porter, he loved barking at cats though that would go through our yard. It is his families hope that his shyness of other dogs has been cured and he is having the time of his eternal life enjoying other animals. Thank you Baxter for being a loyal companion and the best dog there ever was. Our hearts truly are broken missing you already. Till we see you again buddy, Love you forever!
